Amazon prevents authors and other stakeholders from leaving book reviews
Concerned about gaming its review system, Amazon has taken the step of preventing accounts associated with authors, artists, publishers, manufacturers, or third-party merchants from commenting on items which they have a “financial interest in the product or a directly competing product.” The intention here is right, but the implementation seems awkward and likely to incentivize the creation of fake accounts and other unwanted manipulation.
