AOL to Launch 22 Channels on YouTube
After years of resisting the gravitational pull of YouTube, AOL is launching 22 branded channels on the world’s largest video platform. TechCrunch, HuffPost Live, Moviefon, and other AOL properties will each get their own home on the network. The channels are not being funded through YouTube’s new premium content initiative. AOL CEO Tim Armstrong gets the power of YouTube better than his AOL predecessors, having joined the company after overseeing an overhaul of the platform while at Google.
