Apple’s Bob Mansfield: Out of retirement because Forstall’s out of Apple?
According to AllThingsD, Apple SVP Bob Mansfield’s (who retired and un-retired earlier this year) decision to stay on for another two years involves three possible factors: a lot of cash and stock in the company, a desire to help the hardware team make the transition to its new boss, Dan Riccio, and the outing of Apple’s Scott Forstall, with one source saying that “It wasn’t a him-or-me situation. But, put it this way, I think Bob was much more willing to commit to two more years once he knew Scott was on his way out.”
