ASML to acquire Cymer for €1.95B based on next-gen chip tech
Leading worldwide chip gear maker ASML has agreed to purchase Cymer for 1.95 billion euros ($2.5 billion). The Dutch acquirer is interested in the US company’s light-based technology, extreme ultraviolet (EUV) semiconductor lithography, used in making smaller, smarter, next-generation chips.
