Two months after Jullian Assange took refuge in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London while fighting extradition, the South American nation has granted him political asylum.  Great Britain has attempting to extradite the Wikileaks founder to Sweden where he faces questioning over assault and rape claims. The UK Foreign Office warns that it could still lift the embassy’s diplomatic status to fulfil a “legal obligation” to extradite.
