Barnes and Noble shutting down Fictionwise, pioneering e-book service
The service, which runs Fictionwise.com, eReader and eBookwise, was aquired by Barnes and Noble in 2009. It will wrap up operations on December 4 and officially call it quits in mid-February. After December, customers who bought books will no longer have access to the store’s digital bookshelf, but will be able to move their accounts to a Barnes and Noble NOOK library.
