Censoring journalists on social media sites
The New York Times appoints an editor to monitor the tweets of its Jerusalem Bureau Chief, Jodi Rudoren. The reason is due to Rudoren’s inappropriate comments on both Twitter and Facebook regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and praising Zionist books. While they may be controversial in nature, some believe having an editor for social media is inhuman, because it is the uncensored comments that fuels energy in the public, and allows a journalist to be human.
