Double is a telepresence robot that basically consists of a Segway-type machine, with an iPad perched on top. But the real trick is that because the development is done via an iPad, the cost is only $2,000, and it is shipping in December, according to the company. What’s more interesting though, is that an ex-Googler apparently told Google founder Sergey Brin and Larry Page to build a similar machine, but that it never came to fruition.
