European Union Will Charge Microsoft for Browser Breaches
The European Union’s antitrust chief has said Microsoft will be charged for failing to comply with a 2009 ruling ordering to offer a choice of Web browsers. If found guilty of breaking the rules, Microsoft could be fined up to $7.4 billion or 10 percent of its 2012 revenues. The company’s decade-long battle with the European Commission has already cost it $1.28 billion in fines. [Source: Reuters]
