Facebook wants users’ loyalty program data to provide targeted ads
Okay, I think this Facebook is getting a little too much into my business. According to AdAge, the company wants to team up with brick-and-mortar shops and tap into the company’s loyalty program information, looking to collect email addresses and phone numbers. Once Facebook has access to the data, it will match up the information with a user’s profile page and than display targeted ads. So, basically if you buy vitamins at GNC, scan your loyalty card, Facebook will than turn around and post ads pertaining to health on your feed. Creepy. [Source: AdAge]
