Facebook has posted its third quarter earnings report, and “down” seems like the right description. The company claimed higher revenues – $1.262 billion, compared to last year’s $954 million – but everything else fell. Income from operations on a GAAP basis fell from $414 million to $377 million, its operating margin fell from 43 to 30 percent, and it reported a loss on net income, with $59 million (again, on a GAAP basis) in the gutter.
