Gmail.com Addresses Return to Users in Germany
For much of Gmail’s history, there has been a branding and trademark issue in Germany. Google didn’t own the rights to the “gmail” trademark in Germany, which meant that instead of users being allowed to use email addresses ending with “@gmail.com” they were forced to use the domain name “@googlemail.com”. The situation has been rectified, though, and German Gmail users are now caught up with the rest of the world.
