Google Selects 15 Science Fair Finalists to Head to Mountain View
Google has selected 15 finalists for its science fair competition to head to Mountain View for a final presentation in July. One of Google’s partners, Scientific American, has also issued a Science in Action prize to Sakhiwe Shongwe and Bonkhe Mahlalela for their project, which “explores an affordable way to provide hydroponics to poor subsistence farmers.” Shongew and Mahlalela have been awarded $50,000 in prize money, one year of mentorship to develop their project, and are still eligible for other prizes.
