When Christopher Nolan’s film “The Dark Knight Rises” comes out this month, it will contain more IMAX footage than any other blockbuster film to date. With such a big achievement on the part of Nolan, and with the film expected to bring in hundreds of millions of dollars, it raises the question of what it takes to make an IMAX film, and what goes into making the experience so big on the screen.
