iPhone surpasses Android in US market share
The research firm Kantar Worldpanel said Apple moved past Android in smartphone market share, on the strength of the iPhone 5 release. Android’s share grew to 46.7 percent of sales over the last few months, but Apple is expected to surpass its former high of 49.3 percent. The last time Apple overtook Android in smartphone share was after the release of the iPhone 4S, when it held the lead for three straight quarters.
