The Copyright Alert System, a Hollywood-endorsed method meant to slow illegal downloading, will soon go into full effect. Under the CAS, people that download content illegally will have their IP address flagged and sent to the ISPs, which will send a warning to the offending person with instructions on how to download content without breaking the law (because obviously they didn’t know how to do that before) and will then result in further action, including throttling a person’s Internet connection.
