Mayor Bloomberg blames rise in NYC crime on Apple products
Michael Bloomberg pins the uptick in theft to the fact that many more people are carrying around expensive iPhones and iPads. The crime rate is up for the first time in about 20 years — about 3.3 percent from last year — and almost 3,900 thefts are involving Apple products. If it weren’t for those, the city’s crime rate would have actually dropped.
