Emails were sent out to Microsoft Messenger users that the service will be retired come March 15, but with a recent conversation with Microsoft, they is not entirely the case. While Microsoft is planning on retiring the desktop client, no one is certain how it will effect the metro client. March 15, reports Microsoft, is the date that the messenger will be blacklisted and inform users to use the service through Skype. The company is in a transitional period but no severe effects will take place until 2014.[Source: Arstechnica]
