New Research Says 3 Out of 4 Startups Fail
Spoiler alert: Most startups don’t make it. Now there is more evidence around how many fail. Harvard Business School senior lecturer Shikhar Ghosh released research revealing about three-quarters of venture-backed companies in the U.S. don’t return investors’ capital. Ghosh studied more than 2,000 startups founded from 2004 through 2010 that received venture funding, in most cases at least $1 million. The National Venture Capital Association estimates 25% to 30% of venture-backed businesses fail. [Source: WSJ]
