Nike and Oakley respond to Pistorius murder charge
Nike and Oakley, two sponsors of the double-amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorius, have now released statements in response to murder charges brought against the Olympic athlete after his girlfriend was found dead this morning. The shoe giant’s statement read, ”Nike extends its deepest sympathy and condolences to all families concerned following this tragic incident. As it is a police matter, Nike will not comment further at this time.” Meanwhile, sunglasses-maker Oakley was “shocked,” a spokeswoman told Ad Age, and, ”Given that the matter is under investigation, and out of respect for all involved, we will refrain from making any further comments at this time.” [Source: Ad Age]
