Olympic Social Media Guidelines Ban Fun
The International Olympic Committee has outlined its social media rules for volunteers, athletes, and coaches that are taking part in the 2012 London Olympic Games. Participants aren’t allowed to tweet out sponsored posts, anything not in good taste (in the eyes of the IOC), and a number of other smaller offenses. The consequences aren’t listed, so it’ll be fun to see what happens when an athlete Instagram’s a picture that the IOC deems unseemly, and then refuses to take it down.
