If there is one thing The Verge is good at (other than reviewing gadgets) it is that it has a staff that actually bothers to read patent claims. Which is a good thing, because this week everyone (the blogosphere) started to freak out that Apple had patented the design for the MacBook Air. “How could they do that!?” Well, they couldn’t, and they didn’t. Instead, the patent covers the two front feet of the MacBook Air. Strange patent? Yes. Destroying the entire ultrabook industry? Not so much.
