Here’s your morning dose of nostalgia: Wired has covered three homebrew (fan-made) games developed for the Nintendo Entertainment System, that little grey box that brought Nintendo and Mario into the limelight. The games can all be downloaded and played on an emulator or – and this is the cool part – bought as honest-to-goodness cartridges that will (presumably) work when shoved into a NES.

Rolling Stone and Buzzfeed reporter Michael Hastings died early this morning in a car accident at the age of 33. Hastings’ uncompromising 2010 profile of General Stanley McChrystal led to the general being recalled to Washington by President Obama and resigning shortly thereafter.
