Ebook publishers Hachette, HarperCollins, and Simon & Schuster inked a $69 million settlement in a price-fixing lawsuit covering 49 US states (excluding MN) and five territories. If approved by a NY judge, the settlement would go into effect in 30 days and would offer restitution to customers who purchased agency-priced ebooks between April 1, 2010 and May 21, 2012. Apple, Macmillan, and Penguin which were also named in the suit have not settled and continue to fight the charges.
