Twitter Launches Political Index
To gather the latest poling numbers and the general public’s opinion on the presidential election, Twitter has launched a “political barometer.” In order to collect and examine this data, Twitter has partnered with the data analysts at Topsy. It has a scoring system for candidates that Twitter explains as, “A score of 73 for a candidate indicates that Tweets containing their name or account name are on average more positive than 73 percent of all Tweets.”[Source: GigaOm]
