Ubisoft Shows Parallel Between Pirates and F2P Gamers that Actually Pay
As many as 95 percent of downloads for Ubisoft’s “boxed” PC games are pirated copies. This number, besides being astoundingly high, correlates with the percentage of gamers that will pay for a game that is free to play, with bonus features costing a small amount of money: 5 percent. Essentially, 95 percent of people are going to play the game for free no matter what the company does, so they figure they may as well go the free to play route.
