US Soldiers Will Soon Carry Lightning Bolts as Weapons
As if the US wasn’t already the world’s dominant miliatary force, scientists are looking to equip them with flesh seeking lightning bolts. Because humans are such great conductors or electricity — especially compared to the ground on which they’ll presumably be standing — the weaponized bolts of electricity will naturally gravitate towards the designated target. “During the duration of the laser pulse, it can be putting out more power than a large city needs, but the pulse only lasts for two-trillionths of a second,” according to George Fischer, head scientist on the project.
