Even though Verizon shut down its app store, that doesn’t mean the telecommunications company is completely out of the app game. It has published a few app review lists, one being the top 25 free and top 25 paid apps in Google. The rankings are based on battery life, data depletion, and security. Another list, called High Risk Android apps takes things a bit further by ranking apps on “loss of functionality,” “unexpected high data usage,” “battery draining 2 or 3 times faster than normal,” and “security or privacy exposure.” Apps like Draw Something and Fruit Ninja made the list, and I am guessing they aren’t too happy with Verizon for jumping into the world of curation.
