Voice Recognition Research Shows Promise in Detecting Parkinsons
Researchers at the University of Oxford are combining machine learning and voice recognition technologies to detect differences in voice patterns which are associated with Parkinson’s Desease. The team used recordings once-weekly recordings of 50 patients with Parkinson’s over a six month period to develop an algorithm to detect Parkinson’s-related changes. Recent tests suggest 86% accuracy. They’ve planned an extended study of 10,000 more voices with the goal of public deployment in two years. [Source Gizmodo]
