Why Companies Don’t Announce Product Prices or Ship Dates
ReadWriteWeb’s Dan Frommer has offered a few possible explanations for why many companies, including Nokia and the Google-owned Motorola Mobility, don’t announce when their products will go on sale, or for how much. On Frommer’s list: the products aren’t ready, the carriers, who wear the pants in the carrier- manufacturer relationship, haven’t decided on a price or release date, and the pain that it would cause some companies (like Samsung) to announce every price, configuration, and release date for all of the products announced.
