Think your four-digit iPhone passcode will stop law enforcement (or more nefarious types) from accessing the data on your phone? Think again. A piece of software called XRY can bypass an iPhone’s (or Android phone’s) passcode and gather location data, contacts, messages, and possibly even keystrokes. The defense? A longer passcode and good-old-fashioned laziness. Setting a longer passcode can make the process take considerably longer, to the point where the person cracking your phone may just give up.
