We're hearing multiple, but still officially unconfirmed, reports from inside Tony Hsieh's Downtown Project that Matt “Mohawk Matt” Berman has died. Berman was founder and "chief barber" of Bolt Barbers, one of the flagship businesses in Hsieh's new Container Park retail development.

If officially confirmed, Berman's death would make him the third Downtown Project figure to have died suddenly in the last 18 months, following the deaths of Ecomom's Jody Sherman in 2013 and Downtown Project employee Ovik Banerjee earlier this year. Sherman and Banerjee's deaths were both ruled suicides.

Bolt Barbers opened its Vegas location earlier this year in what Bolt described as a "close collaboration with CEO Tony Hsieh and his Downtown Project." The company also has stores in LA and West Hollywood.

I'm trying to get comment on the record/confirmation from the Downtown Project and the Clark County coroner. I'll update this story with more as I hear it.

Disclosure: Tony Hsieh is an investor in Pando Daily, personally and through his Vegas Tech Fund.
